Lang Named HDA Truck Pride 2018 Top Tech Winner

September 24, 2018, St Louis – After participating in HDA Truck Pride’s inaugural Top Tech Competition, Evan Lang from E.L.M. Repair & Refrigeration in Edgar, WI has been named the 2018 Top Tech winner. Evan finished 44th overall at the 2018 TMC SuperTech Competition held this month in Orlando, FL.

TMC SuperTech is a two-day competition featuring a written exam and 16 hands-on stations: Brakes, CSA Compliance, Cybersecurity, Drivetrain, Electrical Meters, Engine (Electronics), Fifth Wheel, HVAC, Liftgates, Service Information, Starting & Charging, Steering & Suspension, Tire & Wheel, Tractor PMI, Vehicle Control Systems and Wheel End.

“The focus for this competition was our independent technicians, the opportunity for them to showcase their knowledge and hands-on skills for the first time on a national level. Lang was joined at TMC SuperTech by our second finalist, Brian Judy from RT&T Repair. Brian completed the written exam and hands-on competition, placing 61st overall. The two also competed in a team event and finished 8th. E.L.M. Repair and Refrigeration is a Truck Service Expert of Zientara Fleet Equipment, while RT&T Repair is sponsored by Midwest Wheel. Our Truck Service Experts are independent service facilities with a focus on customer service, technology and training. All 400 locations are sponsored by a HDA Truck Pride Member. The program gives a locally owned repair shop national exposure with their HDA Truck Pride affiliation.
